In the world of Making Medicine, every day should be World IP Day.

In the world of Making Medicine, every day should be World IP Day. Intellectual property drives innovation and more importantly creates better outcomes for patients. When Incubate was formed more than five years ago, defending IP and raising awareness of its role in the life science ecosystem was the number one priority. That hasn’t changed.

Just two weeks ago, Executive Director John Stanford testified on the importance of IP to the International Trade Commission and reminded policymakers that strong IP isn’t new, or even solely for businesses. IP is so fundamental to American ingenuity that it is in the Constitution.

But as we celebrate IP today, it faces threats at home and around the world, largely because few fully appreciate that without IP, there is no investment. And without that investment, there is no new discovery nor hope for patients. Here are just a few of our resources on IP that all explain why it is worth celebrating!
